One way LUXOFT achieves its goal of attracting, training and employing the country’s best talent, is the company’s student training program. The program directly involves some of Russia’s best IT Universities.
Top Quality Students
Currently, among those studying at the St. Petersburg University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, there are over 70 students who have won multiple national and international programming contests. In 1995 a team of programmers from the university was the first Russian team to make it to finals of the IBM sponsored ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest. That success began a run where the university’s team has never failed to reach the world championship finals. In 1999, 2001,
2003 the school’s team took third place and, finally, in 2004 the university’s team achieved the ultimate goal and became world collegiate programming champions.
Smooth Transition from the Classroom to the Office
The goal of the program is to select talented computer science undergraduates, to provide these students with extensive training in modern software development technologies, to introduce them to real-life software projects, and to prepare these young professionals to meet top level market requirements.
The program’s combination of theory and practice is attractive to the talented and ambitious students because it serves as the best chance for them to move seamlessly from an academic environment into the demanding world of professional software development.
Maximum Benefit
The internship program puts Luxoft in the enviable position of having the inside line on hiring the students who are not only the most talented developers but who also have been specifically trained to understand Luxoft’s corporate culture and to work in accordance with the company’s established business practices.
